Travel & arrival
- Where is Gold Valley and how do we get there?
- The estate is in the South African Highveld, roughly two hours from OR Tambo. We arrange transfers for any guest booked on a safari, multi-day stay or wedding.
- What's the best time of year to visit?
- May to September for the range and safaris — cool mornings, dry roads, sharp light. October to April for the venue and warm-weather weddings.
On the range
- Do I need to bring my own shotgun?
- No. We have a range of club guns (12, 20 and 28 bore) included with any half-day or instruction package. Bring your own if you'd prefer — a temporary import permit takes about three weeks.
- Can complete beginners shoot?
- Absolutely. We run a beginners' flight on weekend mornings with one-on-one instruction, ear and eye protection, and a guarantee that you'll break clays before you leave.
- Is the range open to under-18s?
- Yes — from age 12 with parental supervision and on the dedicated instruction stand.
Safaris
- Is fair-chase hunting the only style you offer?
- Yes. No high fences, no put-and-take. If that's a deal-breaker for your party, we'll happily point you to someone who works differently.
- Can non-hunters join a hunting safari?
- Of course. Many of our hunting safaris include photographic guests in the same party — we run two vehicles when needed.
Venue & weddings
- What's the capacity for a seated dinner?
- 90 in the stable. Up to 220 with the marquee extension onto the lawn.
- Do you have a preferred suppliers list?
- Yes — caterers, florists, sound, photographers. We're happy to share it on enquiry. You're welcome to bring your own.
Deposits & cancellation
- How much deposit do you take?
- 30% to secure dates for safaris and venue hire. Balance is payable 30 days before arrival.
- What's the cancellation policy?
- Deposits are refundable in full up to 90 days before arrival. Inside 90 days we'll do our best to re-let the dates and refund what we can.
